Gorgan Trophy '08 – CPs painting

The CP's painting for «Gorgan Trophy '08» is done. There were made 26 CPs for ТР1 and 30 CPs for ТР2-3-ATV. The routes are more complicated than last year’s one. There are a lot of bottle-necks in which it’s impossible to pass by each other. In case one team conquers the CP it make sense to wait its to be back or to conquer another CP. You might stay there or block someone. We strongly recommend to navigators make the reconnaissance while coming closely to CPs. The motor-car should be leaved in guarantee-to-be-back place. Otherwise you might not to conquer the CP and crash the car. Pay you attention on additional insurance while using winch. In case of winch break you have the chance to seek the car or rest at mountain foot. Have the complete of reserve and dry clothes with you. The winner will be the one who will get to finish.

Look at ТР2-3-ATV route. There are some non-complicated CPs. Main complexity is in CPs as well as in drives to them. There wet clay soil with stones below. Some gauges are deep. There are a lot of small rivers and streams. They are not deep but it’s possible to get into scour up to few meters, especially in case of turoid water. Pay your attention into list of obligatory and recommended equipment, especially into trig winch, Hi-Jack and gas-saw. There would be some bogs. They are not big but «carpathians». Rubber size as 35", 36" will be a perfect fit. It’s desirable something like Simex. Bog-rubber is not good because of steep mountainsides. Everything which is bigger than 35" might cause overturn. In that case the focal point is more important than road clearance. The road might be in such condition that the clearance will not be useful. It’s no sense to conquer all CPs. You have to appreciate your abilities with precision. All CPs for route ТР2-3-ATV might be conquer in time only at quard bike with winch.

Look at ТР1 route. The route is for serial 4wd off-road vehicle with winch. There are a lot of small rivers and streams as at ТР2-3-ATV route. Vertical drops are not greats. All CPs are at road sides or very close to them. There are no problems with finding CPs and coming to them. The main problem is passing the route. There are no needs to force the bushes or to feel trees.

The evacuation should be made by your own. Organizers have no resources to provide organized evacuation. From Monday wood-cutters are working almost at all route’s parts and have sweeps. This is the only transport which might get to and down the car from ant route part. Unfortunately organizers do not have own sweep. It’s about 5-6 hours walking from remote CP to base camp.

Vehicular communication is not available on contest zone, but you might use satellite one. Kyivstar Company is assembling cell in Osmoloda and promises set going its on early October. But it’s not known the cell coverage. There is about 15 km from Osmoloda to base camp. Organizers will get CB Radio, satellite phones and 144 Radio. There would be helpful OziExplorer with 500-meters sets for navigation. In some places (forest, ravines) the receptivity is unstable for old GPS chips, but everything is good for the new chips.
