Gorgan Trophy '07 Regulations

2. Requirements to contest participants

2.1. Contest participant is the person which applies for participation one team (crew).
2.2. All the team members have to be older then 16 years. Pilot (driver) has to provide driving license, B category.
2.3. The quantity of team members has to be equal to car door's numbers (back door is not considered). It needs for the possibility for everyone to leave the motor-car at the same time.
2.4. For participating needs to write to application list the team data.
2.4.1. Surname, name and patronymic name for pilot, navigator and other team members.
2.4.2. Motor-car license plate, model.
2.4.3. Signatures of all team members.

3. Requirements for motor-cars

3.1. For participations only non-broken all-wheel drives 4x4 are admitted. The motor cars have to be registered and approved by technical commission.
3.2. The motor car has to be in efficient condition and meet the requirements of Ukraine traffic rules.
3.3. The motor car has to have efficient eye ring (towing point) or tow bar at the fron or back side.
3.4. The motor car has to have serially made safety belts ( in case its provided by builder).
3.5. All the objects in motor-car have to be surely fixed.
3.6. The responsibility about disparity of motor car to technical requirements of the regulations is on the participants.
3.7. Obligatory car's equipment.
3.7.1. First-aid set.
3.7.2. Fire extinguisher.
3.7.3. Spare wheel.
3.7.4. Trailing line.
3.7.5. Fuel reserve (for 500 km at asphalt route).
3.7.6. Winch.
3.7.7. Tree trunk protector sling.
3.7.8. Spade.
3.7.9. Shackles set.
3.7.10. Digital camera with cable to connect to computer.
3.7.11. Wheels 33" or larger.
3.7.12. GPS (advisable OziExplorer).
3.7.13. Wireless station MF, VHF.
3.8. Advisable car's equipment.
3.8.1. Screw-jack type Hi-Jack.
3.8.2. Chain saw, wood chopper (for only dried trees).
3.8.3. Sand tracks.
3.8.4. Top-line extender (up to 100 м).
3.8.5. Additional digital camera.
3.8.6. Reserve batteries for photo and navigate equipments.
3.8.7. Reserve foodstuff for three days.
3.8.8. Pan (pancil).
3.8.9. Light.
3.8.10. Additional fuel reserve (20 l).
3.8.11. Satellite phone.

4. Equipment, foodstuff and residence

4.1. Every team gas to have the equipment needed for cooking and placing in close mountain conditions (dixies, tents, sleeping-bags, warm clothes and comfortable shoes).
4.2. Placing at camp territory in tents.
4.3. Organizer will provide participants with cartographical charts.

5. Contest rules

5.1. Start for everyone 12.10.2007 at 09:00 from base camp.
5.2. Finish till 21:00 13.10.2007 at base camp.
5.3. Arriving to finish after 21:00 considered as returning back.
5.4. All participants at start will get legend with GPS-coordinates of Check Points (CP), topographical chart with marked CP.
5.5. Goal of contest – is to collect maximum points by visiting CPs, where every CP has different point numbers. The hardest path to CP the higher number of point it has. It needs to keep within 36 hours.
5.6. CPs are three-colored letters drown at immovable objects (tree, stone, stump, post, bridge footing).
5.7. There are thee groups of CPS: white (10 points), blue (20 points) and red (30 - 100 points).
5.8. You need to take a picture of CP to recon it. You have to take the picture of CP (the letter), motor's hull No and anybody from your team touching CP by one hand and the motor-car by another hand.
5.9. You might not fix winch line to CP to avoid its destruction. The team will be taken out the contest while offence against the rule.
5.10. The team will be taken out the contest in case CP destruction.
5.11. The winner will be one who collects the maximum CP's points in set time. To CP's points will be added points for evacuation's cards (conserved own cards or earned while other car evacuation).
5.12. In case two or more teams will collect the same point numbers the winner will be one who finished earlier.
5.13. It's possible to evacuate the motor-car by other participants / teams.
5.14. Organizer will evacuate motor-cars only after the competition would be finished.

6. Ecology, safety

6.1. Using the tree trunk protector sling is obligatory! It's not allowed to fix the sling on tree higher then 30 sm from ground. Additionally, the sling might not be fixed as running knot or be overwinded while fixing it on tree.
6.2. Everyone has to work with steel rope in leather gloved.
6.3. It's not allowed to touch steel rope while loading.
6.4. It's not allowed to cut steel rope while loading.
6.5. It's not allowed to use winch with steel rope without correctly fixed rope dumper.
6.6. It's not allowed to pour out (on ground or water) technological liquids (oil, fuel, etc), to throw out, to burn out or to bury any garbage.

7. Advertisement

7.1. While contest the advertisement on Participant's motor-cars should be placed in case it will be proposed by organizer.
7.2. Organizer reserves without any payments 0,6 – 1,0 sq.m on hood, side faces, car's doors for every car. These sections should be completely free for organizer's advertisement placing and start numbers. Other not used sections / surfaces might be used by participants for placing other advertisement.

8. Changes to the Regulations

8.1. Organizer reserves the right to make changes to the Contest Regulations.
