October 2-5, 2008 Offroad club «Lviv 4x4» had carried out the second 36 hours long GPS orienteering in Carpathian Mts «Gorgan Trophy '08» in serial and prepared off-road vehicles and quard bikes. This year there were 57 teams from Ukraine, including 24 quard bikes. Participants on outlanders were parted into three categories: serial range — category ТР-1, prepared (SUV) range — category ТР-2, and specially prepared range — category ТР-3. Also this year innovation is the different routes for serial and SUV off-roaders. The goal of contest is to collect the max point numbers while coming over CPs.

The CP's painting for «Gorgan Trophy '08» is done. There were made 26 CPs for ТР1 and 30 CPs for ТР2-3-ATV. The routes are more complicated than last year’s one. There are a lot of bottle-necks in which it’s impossible to pass by each other. In case one team conquers the CP it make sense to wait its to be back or to conquer another CP. You might stay there or block someone. We strongly recommend to navigators make the reconnaissance while coming closely to CPs. The motor-car should be leaved in guarantee-to-be-back place. Otherwise you might not to conquer the CP and crash the car. Pay you attention on additional insurance while using winch. In case of winch break you have the chance to seek the car or rest at mountain foot. Have the complete of reserve and dry clothes with you. The winner will be the one who will get to finish.

From 2008-05-31 till 2008-06-02 at Gorgan there was carried out the exploring of routes for contest «Gorgan Trophy '08». For this year organizers has planned to separate routes for ТР1, ТР2-ТР3 and ATV. Additionally, the time format of contest might be changed in compare to last year one. All the participants will be divided to classes (grades) according to technical requirements.

October 12-14, 2007 Offroad club "Lviv 4x4" had carried out the 36 hours long GPS orienteering in Carpathian Mts in prepared off-roaders (SUV) range. Contest's participants from Ukraine, Lithuania and Poland gathered checkpoints (CP) in close mountains conditions during the day and the half. The CPs was at the out-of-the-way places. The teams had met with different obstacles which were not only mountains river-beds, clay mountainsides, overthrow trees but also hard weather conditions like strong wind, low temperature, rain and snow. Ten motor-car teams and two ATV were participated in contest. That was first contest of this type but from today such contests would be tradition.
